PERSONAL STATEMENT

Writing a personal statement in your CV in a few words is considered to be a win-win path that everyone should be aware of. It is very beneficial because it allows our recruiters to know what is your motivation and what you are looking for in your career.  Typically, this statement provides a summary of the industries you’ve worked in, and the years of experiences you have developed in your professional career. The goal is to tell the recruiter “WHY” you are an interested candidate they should want to learn more about. Think of it like an opportunity to give an introduction about yourself in 3 to 5 sentences.

GENERAL INFORMATION

As part of your CV it is very important to be aware of what information should be added and what shouldn’t. The information that should be included: given birth names (first and surname) and not nicknames. The location that you are situated in: country/city, and address.A professional email and not for example rockstar2021@gmail. A more suitable email can include either your first or surname and a number. You can decide what suits you best.  It’s very important to add one reachable contact number.

Other extras you can add to make your CV flawless are direct links to your LinkedIn page or even a professional web page that brands your professional experience. In your own web page you can show off  your achievements or rewards, write small summaries of projects you’ve done in your professional career. Think outside the box! Tip: These personal details that you are writing about yourself should be positioned together after your name.

Information that shouldn’t be stated:nationality, marital status, or social media handles. The languages that you are proficient in fall under skills. This can either be positioned at the left or right side of your CV. You should want to show what levels of education you have so should definitely include it. The name of the institution, name of study program and the degree you have obtained. What is a big No is adding the types of courses and subjects you learned through your education.

WORK HISTORY:

Besides a personal statement and general information about yourself, a CV is a professional document that records your work history. Think of it as a personal schedule or agenda that includes a time lapse of the names of special events you’ve attended in your life, the starting and end dates. And a list of activities that you are set to accomplish for a specific task. A CV is indeed a brilliant idea that keeps track of a memorial time lapse of journeys and things you have experienced to look forward to sharing with others. Therefore, from a professional perspective it is crucially important to communicate the essence of your professional experience in a clear and concrete way. Thus, meaning the name of your employer, the job title, type of job industry, the length of your employment, the tasks you have accomplished and the impressive job skills of course which you have developed within this job. These are important criterias that our recruiters are looking for in your CV. This is how we determine your job-fit to the position that you are applying for at Key Hospitality.

JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Keeping in mind the previous point, another important aspect that we consider is the integrity and fluency of your work history. Honesty is the best policy.  Basically, what is meant by these terms is we look at solid work experiences. If there are too many gaps in your CV this raises red flags. Therefore, it’s very important to state whether your employment is full time or part time. In your career it is ideal for you to have the same job titles and field of work. However,  it’s highly advised to not copy and paste the same information from your previous work experiences. This may indicate that you’re not productive and not willing to take initiative to provide an actual insight of what new tasks, projects and skills you’ve developed in your previous or current jobs.
